Ramblings

Well, here it is another day in beautiful East Tennessee where the weather does what it wants to,(all 4 seasons in one day), typical if you live here. I spent most of the day doing what every happy hubby does when he is off and the wifey-poo is working,,laundry, dishes, and other stuff,(napping,tv,and more napping). But on a more serious note, I voluntarily do the duties not because I have to, but because I want to. She works just as hard as I do to make a living so I feel that it is my place to take care of the house just as much as she does. That's the way I was raised. As most of you know by reading these ramblings, you find that I'm a musician, and I love making music with people and entertaining. I found out last night that we have an engagement in May to go and entertain at one of the local nursing homes. I love doing that because of the joy that it brings to the patients who have no one to make a fuss over them,it kinda makes them feel special for a little while and makes us feel good at the same time. My son Josh just got word today that he gets to start a new job this coming week at The Olive Garden, a good place to eat lotsa good food, gain weight and be miserable all at the same time,

This is one of the shots  of part of our musical madcaps. Terry Phillips on electric guitar, Jeff Tolson on mandolin, Josh Campbell (my son) on flat-top guitar, and yours truly on doghouse bass. Our line-up changes from week to week, depending on if they have another engagement or not. We all have a good time and there is not one bit of jealousy amongst us, hard to find that these days. Well, I'm gonna get off here and get back to my chores,,,God bless one and all until next time

Saturday at the studio

Well here it is another Saturday evening and I'm getting ready to hit the road again to go to Oak Ridge to play on our little local television show. It is called the "Ciderville Farm and Home Show". We have been on the air for a little over two years and we all have a ball performing on it. For all you bloggers who live or have lived in the East Tennessee area, there was an early morning tv show called the Cas Walker Farm and Home Hour, that is what our show is based on. It is a variety show with all kinds of music, everything from country to bluegrass to gospel. It kinda brings back a little nostalgia to the airwaves as well as it is an outlet so that people can watch a show that does not have any vulgarity about it whatsoever, a good clean show.(don't see much of that anymore, do ya?) kinda almost like hee-haw. For those who would like to view it, we televise from 7:30-9:00 PM  EDT and can be seen via internet @ http://www.wyshtv.com/ . Well, I guess I better shut it down for now, I will try to post some pictures from the show in the future. Have a good evening and may God bless one and all.

memories

Have you ever wished that you could turn back the years of time? The other day, my son Josh and myself were cleaning out the basement and I ran across a box filled with old pictures of some family members who have done went to be with the Lord. As I sat and looked through them, my mind went back to a time when all the family was together. I found snapshots of my dad and my uncles as well as my grandfather, who himself has been gone for over 30 years. I remember his wisdom and some of the stories that he would share with us kids. If I can ever figure out how to drive this machine I will post some of those old photos, as well as some of the newer ones of where Josh and myself are playing music, but for right now it will all have to be in text form. Well, that's about all I have for right now,,but I will be posting more very soon. May God's grace be with one and all
